Running rough
Back story, three weeks ago my 02' 7.3 started running really rough and then quit and wouldn't start with no codes. I thought of the cps but wanted to play first. Finally I added some oil(four quarts down)and switched the pcm and idm relays and it fired right up. Ran rough for ten minutes and then smoothed out with no problems. Fast forward to yesterday, fired right up but runs very rough with no codes. After a half hour of freeway driving it kicked up a code 1306 as I recall that showed a misfire or problem with the idm. After running it for an hour it smoothed out but today its running really rough with no signs of smoothing out. My first thought is to replace the idm relay and then get it in to the dealer. Is the idm covered under the 100k warranty?Any thoughts?

i had to replace the idm in my truck as well. My truck was also running rough, almost like it was running on 6 or 7 cylinders. Come to find out, it was. Injector completely failed and took the idm out. Bad news for me was that my truck had 130K on the clock. Good news for you is that your engine is still under warentee. I am seriously willing to bet that your idm will be covered under the engine warentee. The IDM is essential for the engine to run.
Don't wait, because those IDM are not cheap, mine cost me almost 900 dollars just for the part, not including dinostic and installation.
