It is kind of obvious how to adjust a hood but my problem is a little different. All the adjustment is bottomed out but one side still sticks up. You can push it down with your hand when the hood is shut and it will position properly, but when you let off the pressure the spring action pushes it back up. This is nothing drastic. It sticks up maybe 3/4" too high. I'm wondering if the hinge is not worn out and the slack is causing the problem.
The hinges wear and you can fix some of that by squeezing the pivot points in a press. The other area is the sheetmetal brace that crosses the hood and serves as the mount point for the top of the hinge. Look in the curve of this brace near the hinge bolts for cracking and bending. If you hood has ever flew open this area of the brace bends and cracks.
The topic has comes up on few occasions. Not sure if much help, but came across one of them, suggest run advance search under member. It is dated 3/15/04 by FTE member frosty64 entitled " hood hinhges". Should come up w/ others if also run general search under 'hood hinge'.
