Headers?
Just go to YAHOO and type in the word "headers" and you will get alot of info. The short of it is headers replace the factory exhaust manifolds creating a less restrictive system freeing up horsepower. Long tube headers have a scavenging affect that pulls the exhaust pulses from the engine, much better for making low end torque. Shortie headers have less restrictions than the factory exhaust manifolds but don't have a scavenging affect but they will increase mid to upper range power.
