hey not to steal a thread but anyone ever had headers on 2v 5.4l increase in power?torque? gas mileage? how u like em?
I did not notice a big hp gain but did get about 2or 3 mpg gain with bbk shorty headers.I installed a power programmer, headers (BBK shorties)
bbk 75 mm throttle body, and a k&n cold air kit.I am getting about 15mpg out of my 01 f250 4wd.My advice what ever brand header you buy is to install percys seal for life header gaskets, you will spend about $40 bucks for the set but well worth the money. Imo the 5.4 is a bit under powered in a f250 with a gvw of 8500 lb but with a few minor upgrades it has done what I need it to,tow my boat ,tow my sleds and plow snow.

I installed a hypertech programmer in my truck .I think all of the gas programmers do about the same thing, change trans line pressure, different stages ect.I am running in stage three which requires 93 octane fuel.I went with hypertech only because I got a really really good deal on it. All programmers will scan for troubles codes ect as well which is nice seeing i am out of the car business now.
I also got the bbk shorty headers watch the part numbers if you buy them off summitracing i didn't and actually got the wrong year so the had a different pitch. If you get the long ones which are probably best don't forget the o2 sensor extensions.
