my aerostar 95 has factory speakers, but only the front 2 worked, so i decided to go buy a new head unit thinking that the stock was messed up and got a nice panasonic, but when i hooked it all up only the 2 front speakers work, so then again i went and bought new speakers all around and installed it. THEN again only the fronts, could someone help me out with this problem?
thanks
On our loaded '91, there is a button on the rear radio control that turns off the back speakers. This is for the headphones if they are to be used. Do you have that?
If not, the equalizer fade switch seems to be finicky once in awhile and sends all signal to front or back. Check it out.
Because you might only have 2 speakers. My Aero looks like it has front and rear speakers but when I removed the tailgate cover there was no rear speakers only front speakers.
I would say that the problem may still stem from that back button. Maybe the contacts are bad as I found in our van with a lot of the switches ie;emergency brake light switch, interior light switces, etc. Just see if you can remove that switch and cross the 2 wires together. If they then work, then you know what to do.
1. Check to see if the rear speakers are off
2. Check switch
(No rear controls or still don't work)
1. Check sliding door electrical contacts for corrosion and aliagnment.
2. Check to see if the wires are cut(under trim pannels)/run new wires to the rear speakers from deck(probably easier)
thanks for the help all, yeah the wires where disconnected from the rear control unpluged, and now i have it running nicely with 3.5 pioneer, 6x9 pioneer and 4 kenwood, havent gotten the head unit yet in place.
