So I call the DSB like I am supposed to if I want to schedule a time to "present" to the board. That means if you want to talk to them you have to have an appointment. I had chosen to be at the hearing in person because I feel that it gets your message across much better vs a phone conference. When I get the people on the phone I am informed that no, you can't be here in person (even though the paperwork gives you that right and I was even told where the hearing was to be held) and we are only doing this via telephone. They said that since there are so few in our area it was decided that they would only use a teleconference.
Now what if I had not chosen to present and instead just drove to the hearing (250 miles away) and they were not there?
Well i think my next question would be who pays the independent dispute board you may get a surprise! they will tell you they are a indepent contractor but who pays the contractor ?I may let you all know after my dispute is settled im dummying for now

My reply would be let's take three or four of these out for a ride and I get to pick which three or four we test drive. If you know anybody with one, have them follow you to the dealership so that you and the dealership can take a ride in your friend's truck to check for the noise. Bet it won't be there on any of the others.
I like clemson just want what is right.... I am not asking for millions, or even thousands of dollars just a truck that performs like (as it seems from this forum) the majority of other trucks. I could see Ford throwing fits if I was trying to make them take a truck that was a couple of years old with 50k on it but this one is months old and had 1000 miles when it all started.
What I can't grasp is what ford thinks I am doing? Do they think I am trying to get something more than what I deserve? Why in tarnation would I want to trade a brand new truck for a brand new truck if there was nothing wrong? How does it benefit me other than one that works as it is supposed too? Am I missing something?
I have not "dummied up" as most others who go through this have because I really don't think it matters what (within reason) you do, it will turn out how it turns out. I will say though that if this DSB doesn't work I will fire up the lemon law process and they can tell it to a judge and get a lemon stamped title for their efforts. I just think if that happens we all lose, they get a truck that is unsaleable and I have to go through all of the grief.......
Oh well, guess I will go out and buy the big lemon stickers to "decorate" my truck and be prepared.

I like that...I wouldn't be beyond that myself...as a very last resort...if I felt that I was being wronged. However, yellow on my gray truck isn't exactly color co-ordinated you know.
Of course having stickers on your truck (unauthorized after market mod) would increase wind resistance thereby lowering your MPG's, increase load...cause the EGR valve to fail...surging etc... and void the entire warranty.

! Well, to be honest I don't know if MPG's could get worse.... The up side is the yellow will go with my black truck very well!
The interesting thing that I can't get over is the fact that the zone rep and hotline copied my conversations with them VERBATIM and sent them to the DSB. That means either they have one heck of a memory or I was being recorded without my permission which really concerns me.
Turns out after some quick research that MT is a two party consent state. That means that they would have to get my permission to record any phone call. Hmmmm, hearing today, maybe this will come up?
I got my 04 bought back just last week with out going to arbritration- I had the help of all these great people on this site to keep me CALM, COOL, and SANE...If you start throwing your attitude to these people they will not listen as you would not if someone came to you with an instant attitude...I had a great convo with the serv mgr and left a mess for the GM at the dealership fortunatly I was able to keep things cool the whole 6 months of problems and finally got Ford to do something. I also used a little leverage - you gotta if you can!! I told them that we Rodeo - we see lots and lots of people and can spread the word like wild fire and my father owns a comp where al he buys are FORD trucks....so when the Head Ford Dude came into the dealership our Sales guy had a 20min convo with him as well as the serv mgr (oh yeah we also told them that we could get real creative with free advertising for them SO low and behold we got r done!!!!
Good luck - just remember to stay CALM, COOL, and SANE a truck is not worth gettin' your undies in a bunch!!
