Anyone ever experience a dead pedal. What i mean is enging running but hit the gas pedal truck does not idle up at all nothing. Has happened when starting truck up and put into gear and nothing turn truck off and try again it goes. Also once going down the interstate running good and lost all RPM but truck running would not rev up at all. Pulled off the road turned truck off and also was told to unplug EGR valve (with motor off) and started back up ran fine. That was Tuesday haven"t plugged EGR back in yet. Then today happened again started it up at the Boat shop and put into gear no pedal running but would not rev. Turn truck off back on worked great. Any ideas?????????? Yeah I know take it in but wanted to ask here first see what kind of response first.
Sounds alot like a symptom of wire chafing. Do you have adjustable pedals? Also, the throttle potentiometer uses three signals. If one fails, the throttle works normally; if two fail, it goes to idle and will not react to movement. It is possible that your pedal sensor is going bad or that the computer is not reading that signal properly. When you shut off the engine and restart, it basically "reboots" the computer. Yes, take it in, but keep these things in mind and of course, I'm just guessing here so don't harrass them if they tell you it's something different. Good luck. Mat
I have had the same problem and they found the VGT sensor bad ( Variable Gas Turbine ) this will not let the turbine spool. You can sut it off and restart it and it will be fine but the more you do that the worse it gets. It won`t take long to fix. Good Luck
