Ricky Rudd all the way #21! Dale jr ha ha ha ha ha, he stinks like his old man, and he drives chevy. Jimmy Johnson that is even funnier he is almost as bad as his teammate and part owner Gordon, and they drive chevy. This is a Ford site. Ford all the way, wake up guys. I mean that in a nice way.
Yeah, Jimmy is sooo bad that he almost won the Nextel cup last season right? Jeff too right? When was the last time Rudd won a road course? Hmmmm, can't turn right in that thing??

Almost won key word. Rudd has almost won before too. If Johnson didn't have teammates and drove for a single car race team then we would see. Also rudd is not a whiner.Johnson has a good team, put anyone there and they would do the same if not better. If johnson wants a championship try Ford, yeah the ones that won 2 years in a row you know them.
Well, since it does no good to complain about the so called race for the chase shootout where they take the leaders, strip them of their points that they earned, and start them at the big goose egg all for the benefit of ratings because that's the way it is let me point out one thing about "almost".
Not only did they "almost win" but if the above hadn't been the case one of them would have won... Not to mention who are the top money makers as well as multiple championship holders? Need some help? I'll start you out... Not Rudd.
I do not get why people hate, yes, a strong word but people hate Jeff Gordon and sometimes by association Jimmy Johnson and it makes no sense to me. I think with the exception of Harvick (the jury is still out on him) there are a fine bunch of drivers out there! Yes, even Tony Stewart...The cars are almost all the same but the drivers do fantastic things with them on a regular basis.
We watched a movie last night about Dale Sr. and how he grew up. The one statement that was made by his dad that sounds about right was to Dale when he complained his car was not fast enough to win. It went something like " It doesn't matter how fast your car is son, who wins is the driver that refuses to lose".
So you can get on your soap box about Ford or chevy, I will stick with the driver!

Alright, We like who we like, lets just enjoy the 500 today and be glad that it is back. And hey good luck today lets hope both of our drivers do well. It sure would be nice to post a tread from victory lane though. Take care.

Four lead changes in the last nine laps .... not bad finish. Stewart, one of the most gifted drivers, lost another head game and then showed his lack of control by hitting Johnson, should be a fine for that. I really dislike plate races, but it would have been great to see that 6-car in victory circle.

i hated to see jeff gordon win and i am also happy that dale jr did not won. i think nascar lets him get away with breaking engin rules. none of the other cars can pull out of the draft and pass like he can. there is something fishy about it and it all ties in with the france family owning 5 GM dealerships and jr being the nascar and GM poster boy. just think about it, if jr aint winning are they really going to get as much attention and fans watching on TV and in the stands. i think something is not right.
Is that also why Sr. got away with so much that anyone else would have been black flagged over??? Don't dislike him (much), but he seemed to get preferential treatment. Jr. has come a long way in a real short time. Wonder why? He is one of the heart throb posterboys for sure.
Today some commontater compared Tony S. to AJ Foyt. I think AJ raced much cleaner and didn't have such an Freakin' ATTITUDE. Most of all I wish that Mark would have gotten the win. He is the cleanest racer I have seen. He won't wreck you to win. Can't believe this is his last season. He is a dying breed of racer. He's not a whiner like so many of the new superbrat drivers. Maybe its just me----turning into an old fart. Hope this is not my last season.

You must be joking. While I am a big AJ fan, I have no such illusions about him. To get to the front, he would drive around or through an opponent. He was known for his temper, for starting fights and was once caught using nitrous in a qualifying run.

Well maybe I am a little ignorant about him. I have to admit you are correct. I do remember a few incidences, now that you mention it!!! WTH. But he must be good because he advertises Craftsman wrenches that will last for 3-4 generations! (BS) He "still uses his father's Craftsman"! (now I am Joking) Well they were made a little better back then.
All too often this all boils down to a good show for the fans and the almighty$$$. But if it wasn't for the $$ factor it would all dissappear. So we have to put up with the various situations.

I agree with you 100%. Plus I see Jr. as a 30 year old who acts like an 18 year old...hat turned backwards, stupid hand 'signals', can't control his mouth...kinda like the rich kid who's father bought him a new car, or in this case a warehouse full of cars.

Again, why does everyone hate to see Jeff win? Is there some reason he doesn't deserve it? I watched a show where most of the old time drivers and team owners were sitting around talking about racing and the big "admission" as it were was that all teams try to cheat. They will do anything to win and do their level best to get stuff by the NASCAR inspectors but you don't hear about what goes on in the pre-race tech inspections.
They talked about Junior Johnson cutting frames and others with illegal gas tanks and hiding weights on the cars or altered heights etc. so to say that one team or another cheats is not very fair, the correct way is to say that they got caught!
I was hoping #48 would win but I am ok with #24......
well me being a huge FORD fan and the way jeff gordon and kasey kahne screwed ford over. that is the reason i hate him and i dont like jeff gordons attitude, especially last year after a race when he cried and bad mouthed his team. if i was a member of that team i would screw him over. as for kasey i hope he never wins a race till he gets back in the seat of a ford car.
I'm still in sports purgatory, from the National Championship until Opening Day, there's nothing good...except for Super Bowl commercials...[sigh] one month and 9 days till my beloved BoSox kick things off.
They already do, a few races are run on road courses...
yeah, theres Watkins Glen International, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, and Infineon Raceway. although road courses do put a little excitment for the drivers and somewhat for the fans, and its a little bit of a change.. i am a fan of the tri-oval tracks.. not sure why. i guess it was my favorite one to do on Play Station 2...
