Qualifying today, shoot out last night, Twin 150's on thursday................
after that wreck fest ARCA race just pray all drivers have safe racing season
was anybody seriously hurt in the last wreck of the ARCA race? I am kind of wondering because they show all the other replays of the wrecks in that race, but they won't show the wreck that happened right before the finish of the race where at least one car was on fire and 2 or 3 others were rolling and airborne.
I really liked nascar yet at last I would have to say that it has " jumped the shark". The best quote that from the Bud shootout was from larry " whoever wins the Bud Shootout has a real good chance of winning the champingship as many have done this in the past" I don't why they refer back to past as the point system has change and the past clearly has little to do with future of nascar. oh well good bye nascar and hello local track racing!!!!!! Ahhh the smell of brakes and the sound high rpm.....
the smell of brakes and the sound of high rpm? how bout the the smell of alcohol burning exhaust, metal on metal contact and dust so thick if you don't drink your "beverages" quickly, you will have a 1/4 inch of dirt in the bottom of the cup. My local dirt track starts it's season here at the end of april
It seemed to me that there were way too many commercials during the shootout. It's like we missed 3 or 4 laps each time. Plus, there's more new ones with Jr. in them. I can't stand him to begin with, now it's like every other commercial has him selling something. Enough already.
The commercial are ridiculaous. I'm glad to see Jarrett get the pole, although i'm pullin for Kurt to win it. He was up front all last year, but he and Jr had to bend his fender, which put him up there but 1 lap down with a bent fender. Lets see what he can do with an undamaged car.

boo friggin hooo. jr won it with no right front fender one year.
And he is in what spot for the 500? According to my nascar news letter he said that his car in not making enough power to keep up so unless he is just playing possum at the back I think a new ride might be in order (if this keeps up).
There was a time when that was true, but other teams have spent a lot on restrictor plate technology and Jr. is back in the pack.

Hendrick Motorsports and Roush Racing come to mind. Biffle was the car to beat in the shootout. For once at the restrictor plate I will be very surprised if any of the DEI cars make it to victory lane.
The Datona 500 is NASCAR's biggest race, so it is indeed a big deal. Also there is a second plate track and the new points system makes every race a big deal. Then there are the two road courses and no one will claim that Jr. is the best at turning right AND left. He is a good driver with good equipment and he could win the championship, but I would not bet the farm on it.
