Intake casting numbers

Hey guys, I have a few casting numbers off some intakes that I was hoping you could help me with. I have tried to search the forums but for some reason its always too busy, so Im just going to ask.

C8AE-9425-F
C7JE-8426-A
C5AE-9425-C

I have an opportunity to get any of these and was curious if you guys would offer some advice to which one vs. which one. They all appear to be in great shape, no visible cracks so any info on what the casting numbers bring up would be great.

Just off the top, I would venture to say you will find they are all the same. There is one item, the water neck inlet on the C5 is probably the larger hole item, so you will want to match it up to what you plan on putting this into. Measure the ports on the manifolds and compare them to your heads. The only thing you will need to look out for is a medium riser or tunnel port but I doubt any of these manifolds fall into that catagory. Let us know what you find...

Well all the ports measure the same within reason due to casting discrepencies. I'll probably just pick the cleanest one but I was unsure if there were any major differences that I should be aware of. I'd have to pull my current intake to match them to my heads and since this is my daily driver, I'll just hope its close. Is there a specific intake out there (stock FoMoCo) that one should look for??

Marine intake eh? Thats interesting, Do you know if there would be any advantage/disadvantage with using that one, it appears to be in the best shape. But this is only a temporary install until I can scrounge up enough money for an Edel RPM. Thanks guys.

The marine engine I had was a 300hp 427 and was mostly 390 internal and external parts. These were not the burning performers of the day but grunt marine engines pushing large yachts around. It will work as best it can and yes should be fine till you find someting better. I'm pretty sure there are no issues using a marine intake but just double check it against the others as they are production car intakes for water fittings and sensor placement. Also check for salt water corrosion but there is a chance it was used in a closed loop cooling system being you said it was the best looking of the three. It's heavy too! G.

I guess since Ford list J as industrial, that means the same thing as marine? Just curious.

I've not run across to many industrial items myself but yes it appears they both use the JE in the casting number. Being on the east coast I have seen my share of crusty 427 marine engines though......a few you would cry over. G.
