For those with 460's.....

with a bed and tv and some other stuff in the back on flat ground with no wind i got around 13-14 and without a load at all its around that too. with a 12 foot uhaul on a 650 mile trip i averaged 9.8 going up into the rockies. truck has 169000 miles on it. 3.55 gears and a 5-speed

well i always get 16.5 mpg on a 500 mile trip on my all stock 1976 thunderbird 460 with fact dual exht 2.75 ratio rearend the car is heavy at 5200 pounds it has the fact motorcraft 4v spredbore carb still on it the key to good mpg on a 460 is dual exht and a good air filter like a k and n and haveing it timed right because from the factory thay are timed way to slow set your timeing up and its like a different eng
