I've posted questions in about ten appropriate threads but still can't get a straight answer. I have the infamous "Fuel Tank Cross-Flow" problem in my '95 F350, 7.5L: My rear tank pumps gas into the front tank because the front tank's check valve leaks.
I cannot seem to get a simple one-word answer to my question from anyone who has made this repair. Here is the question:
Do I need to replace just the pump or do I need to replace the entire Fuel Delivery Module (with the sending unit, pump, etc. in it)?
The pump is a component of the FDM. The FDM is what gets initially pulled out of the tank when this repair is made.
Will someone please have mercy on me and give me a simple answer?
Thanks in advance,
Dan in Colorado

Reason: spelling
My understanding, the fuel pump can't be changed in the FDM.There have been posts concerning adding a check valve instead of a FDM to correct the problem.
Yeah, a check valve can be added. My Ford guys want $250 for one (NOT!). They are being real dips about this whole thing. And, I did post a complaint at NHTSA already. I have seen posts refering to "replacing the pump" in my year range.
I still need to know if I need just a pump or the whole drop-in unit.
