I have a 1996 F250 4WD 5.8 dual tank. I recently pulled my rear steel tank (18 gal I assume?) because it had developed a very small leak. The FDM in that tank was also weak and tended to crossflow (fill up) if I ran off my front tank. I noticed this FDM was slightly different in that it had a sloped bottom.
My questions are:
Can I replace it with a plastic tank?
I understand these are 19 gal?
I also understand they will take the same FDM as what is in my front tank (not the one with the sloped bottom)?
Is any of this correct? And if anyone has experience doing this please chime in.
