i got a 96 f250 long bed with both tanks filled till the hilt i can about go about 700 miles till bone drya nd thats all highway miles i hope this helps that gives me about 17-18 mpg
We have similar trucks, and the same tanks. Your front tank will actually hold 22.0 gallons, and the rear tank will hold 21.0. If you've done the math and determined that you're getting 17-18mpg, you've probably still got 2-3 gallons in the tank. My personal best is 825 miles without refueling, but I ran one tank completely dry before switching at 425 miles, and was so low in the red on the gauge my wife made me stop for fuel.

So ...it's a good thing the wife was with you , or you may have had to walk !
I've been getting 17-18 mpg on winter blend, and was getting 21-23 on summer blend. 2000 Ex. cab SB 6 spd. I'm very happy with both milages, as it IS, after all, a 6500# brick.
quadzilla i think ur right what kills me when i go on trips is going through jersey all the tolls kill the mileage cause its stop and go through the damn tolls u got any mods to ur truck
2002 with the wife driving is getting 16.97 mpg here in michigan she hasnt grasped the concept of keeping it under 2000rpm on the expressway she flying...I love the diesel over her old 99 F250 with a gasser it got 12mpg or so.Now im getting ready to get a programer and exhaust.
Putting a chin spoiler on an F250/350 is like putting a chin spoiler on a brick , but it couldn't hurt ether . The only problem is that in order for one to really work it should be as close to the road as possible and would be the first thing to hit a parking curb .
well i removed a 6 inch kit from my truck and i got 125 more miles to the tank. so a 3 inch airdam might help. only one way to find out.
beano are you talking about a 6" lift ? If ya are , your right , getting the truck down so it doesn't have to push so much air helps MPGs. You're right about the airdam/chin spoiler...... only one way to find out !
