Trans temp

Hey gang , got the temp gauge install in the X and was wondering what was the safe range for normal driving and the safe temp for towing a 7,300 lbs trailor? as always thanks Big ED

170 - 190 is normal IMO. Much more than 190 and your ATF starts to cook the additives.

i use under 200* as the safe zone. before i got my cooler i would hit 220* and that was to high (i thought). i have yet to hit 200* with my 24,000 gvw cooler and that was pulling a 8,000# trailer in the south dakota mountains in july.

Just wondering how hard it is to install a transmission temp gauge? I have a 95 PSD Auto Crew Cab Dually.

The Transmission Temp. Gauge is one of the easiest mods. Hardest part is running all the wires and figuring where to place the gauge.
