IP Rebuild?

I was planning on rebuilding my IP myself and I was... Just kidding!

Mine has 120,000mi on it and seems fine to me, but I read somewhere that they go downhill after 100000miles and should be rebuilt. Is this true?

If it is then how much does it cost to have your IP rebuilt (by a professional)?
Is it worth it?

Everyone is watching the Super Bowl so don't expect too many replys right now!! From my readings and inquiries I have found the following:
1. Some claim they have over 200,000 miles and are still all original IP and injectors.
2. Cost. $300-$600 to rebuild an IP. There are some sites that want $300+ and then the cost of any new parts to rebuild your IP. Most will test your pump for $50-75.00 plus shipping etc. This might be a better idea if you are not sure if you really need an IP.
Try and find a local rebuilder if you can. One near me wants $465.00 plus $240.00 to install and time the IP. Even that sounds high but it is surely less than the local dealership. Rebuilt injectors are about $30-35.00.
Why do you want to do all this? Are you down on power or is it not running like it used to? I wish mine only had 120,000 miles. Mine is at 190,000 and definately needs an IP. If the rest of your truck is solid it is worth it, esp. if you like it.
What the heck, go ahead and do it yourself. I'd like to hear about all your fun.
That will be one heck of a thread!
