boost relief valve+chip

I was just bored this morning and was looking around at a few websites and I see these boost relief kits, that got me thinking. I have got an OBS truck and the pcm will defuel it at 24 psi, or 22, or I have heard as high as 28 a few times....

First off, anyone who has an OBS, where do they defuel at???

Second for all you guys who know alot about chips and pcm's here goes..

With a boost relief or even a pressure regulator the map sensor will only see 24 psi or whatever it is set toeven though you will be running more then that in upwards of 30psi in cases. so.. your map see's 24, you engine is actually at 30, is there a chip or way to reprogram the pcm so that the pcm will recognize that you are running 30+psi and will keep fueling the motor???

I have always wondered how these guys with monsterhorsepower can make all that horespower if the computer is only "seeing" 24 psi. can injectors and a chip make that much horsepower even if the map only sees 24psi??? you all follow me on this???

Thanks wlihntr.

So at 22 psi the pcm is feeding the truck the maximum amount of fuel that is can get in right????

So.. by having your boost relief at 22psi the pcm will always be fueling it at the max, if you over 22psi.

So.... with huge injectors and a hot chip you will realy be able to load it up with fuel, and if you boost relief is at 22psi then it will always be loading the fuel to it, even if you are over 22psi, and with the added boost there COULD, at least in my thinking, be an advantage of a better air fuel ratio at 30 psi then at 22, which would result in a little cooler egt, but at the level of HP I am thinking i doubt it wuld be any help .

Thanks again. answered my question, happy roddin'
