eot mod, clamp mod, TIP-MAP swap

i heard that you could do all this yourself, and sounds like a pretty good setup if you'r willing. i heard that if you use the clamp mod(1K, 5.6K, and 3 diodes), it increases fuel pressure, and if you do the eot mod(4 or 5K), it increases timing, and then if you swap the turbine inlet pressure(backpressure) sensor and the intake manifold pressure sensor, that you can really get the ol' powerstroke cookin. and what about the fpr shims on top of all this? it will be going on a 95 powerstroke with an auto and i don't care about burning anything up or poor fuel milege. and is there some way to increase the line pressure of the e4od??? i'd really like to know, it shifts a little smooth for me. don't tell me not to do it because it will hurt something or someone because i don't care, i just want black choke smoke and raw horsepower. does this sound like a good setup for some tire smokin, tranny slippin power?

If you don't care, why are you asking? Just do it and tell us the results. Knock out all those no cost mods and go spank the stank out of it and let us know what happend. It's not often we hear of someone that doesn't care about their truck, and wants to beat it. So by all means beat it, and take pictures.

ok, i will, but i was just wonderin who has done these mods to their truck and with what results, and i was also thinking about putting a little air tank and about 50 psi in it and hooking it up to the boost sensor and just leaving the backpressure sensor where it is. and is there any way i can put a guage on the injector pressure and see the actual increase of the 10k-verses the clamp mod???

the eot mod is puting a 5.6 k or so resistor in the engine oil temperature lead in order to advance timing a little, how much?? i don't know, i wish i could rig up a timing light to see how much actual increase in timing it really does. and the swapping of the boost pressure and exhaust backpressure sensor means thatsay there is 50 psi backpressure and there is 20 psi boost, the computer thinks that there is 50 psi boost and 20 psi backressure and will "in theory" give the motor more fuel to compensate for 50 psi boost and not "defuel"the motor due to high backpressure or-turbo inlet pressure"correct name for it"

I've done the 10K, FPR shim. The 10K mod made a very noticable difference. I put mine on a switch on my shifter. I have more fun with it than I can say. No, it's not sling you in the seat power, but you can feel it. The FPR shim, made no power difference, but smoother idle. It bumped my fuel pressure up to 75psi. I haven't done the EOT mod yet. I'm waiting on some feedback on that one. And the other two mod you mentioned, I have never heard of. Good luck

the backpressure sensor is right behind the alternator...goofey place. where exactly is the eot sensor?? and yes the boost pressure sensor is the map sensor. i don't know if these motors defuel at certain boost pressures or not..?like maybe if the comp sees 20 psi boost, it would give more fuel than 30 psi boost if all other sensors were telling the computer the exact same thing. or maybe 30 is more fuel, 40 is more than 30 etc. i will play with this and figure stuff out soon.

The PCM will defuel the engine anywhere in the vicinity of 22-24psi. I put a relief valve before the MAP sensor that prevents it from seeing those numbers, so it just keeps adding fuel.
This is funny, one of the first guys I've heard that doesn't care about the truck. So what's the deal, is the truck on it's last leg? Is it your buddy's truck that you get for a week?? What's the scoop?

Yep, so basicaly your stuck, you can never tell the computer that you have more then 24 psi of boost. you CAN have more boost, but the computer will never "see" more then 24. the tank idea is kinda a good one, but you will have to regulate it to 20-22 psi, then you will be safe, the computer will load it up with fuel, and off you go, sound like it could be a good idea, I would defintly try it, but just stay under the 24psi mark otherwise you will set a c.e.s light and a code.

ok, i will hook up a tank to the map and hold it at a steady 20 psi. and hook a tank up to the ebp and go to 10. then do the clamp mod and put a 5.6 or a 4k inline to the eot and i will see if it runs good and if the tranny still works. i am currently in the process of putting a hx 35/12 cm wastegated turbo on my idi. gotta wait till mon. to get exhaust made for it then i will tell ya'll how that turns out. the powerstroke is actually my buddie's truck and he has alredy cut the exhaust off right after the turbo and took the air filter off at the turbo in order to get air in-out of the motor. that floorboard gets pretty hot!! and a caliche road has to be rough on it, but he don't care. he's the craziest redneck i know, i told him hes gunna burn the truck to the ground, but he says he has good insurance...??? IDK but my truck wouldn't be in the driveway good till i started putting exhaust and intake ugrades, then comes the computer upgrades, i would have alredy done all this by now if it was really my truck. i will hook up a boost and pyro guage and tell ya'll what it does to the temps and try to make myself take plenty of pics.

do any of ya'll ever go to the diesel stop forums and have really bad experiences with them?? because the first time i posted, they really took it the wrong way, then i told them how i feel, and it wasn't nice, needless to say i will never go back to that site. they didn't like the fact that i didn't care about my truck.... and ya'll loved the aspect of it. i don't understand! i posted pretty much the same exact post as this. thanks for the great info about when the computer defuels the motor!! i would have had to figure that out the hard way!!

Word of caution I spent the time to do the clamp mod, not long if you can solder, I have since remoed it because it started setting the "CHECK ENGINE" light
