Ford 292 Engine

Anyone have info on parts, specifically lifters for a 1964 Ford F-150 292 V8 engine? Needed badly.

Have you tried NAPA? THey can get alot of mechanical parts. Any good auto parts store can get them, just need to find a place where these kids can look up stuff in a paper book.

autozone.com is actually listing the lifters, in case you can't find them elsewhere.

Id like some Torque an HP numbers out of these 292 Y Block motors, Im the soon to be owner of a 62 4x4, and A.) am excited to get to know you guys....and B.)starting to gather some info

What kind of mileage are you getting out of your Y-blocks?

Can I just stroll into my parts store and get parts for this thing?

i have a 62 4x4 w/ a 292. I end up gettin 10-12 mpg. I usually get 10, because i have a lead foot, and i live in a small town with no cops

. As for sound, i have mine with dual straight pipes to dual glasspacks. I think it sounds sweet, especially for a small engine. It sounds really bad *** anywhere from 2800-4000 when you really get on it. Man good investiment on that pickup, i have one, and i love mine to death.
