Interchangeable tops

There's a Bronco in a junkyard down the road from my house. Possibly mid to late 80's. I'd like to buy another top for my '92 to do some customizing. Which Bronco tops will fit mine? Am I limited to '92-'96?

I think the 90s on have a thrid brake light on them and thats why the 90s on dont give you directions on how to remove the top. plus I think the rear seat belt are atatched to but not to sure on that one. I belive its against the law to remove that third lite if yours came with it from the factory. but I belive you can put 80-96 tops on any of them

Planning on chopping the back off and moving the back window up so that the back seats will be covered and the back area will be open, perhaps with a tonneau cover. The other option is stripping the glass and fiberglass and having a canvas top made. I have a couple of ideas and some very creative and talented friends.

I have my top off most of the time during the summer and have yet to have a problem with the local fuzz about the brake light. If I ever do get hassled, I can whip something up to satisfy the letter of the law.

1992 was the first year for the high-mount stop lamp and the seat belt shoulder harness mountings. 92-96 tops will still fit earlier models back to 1980 though. Nice thing is, if you find one from 92-96, you can swap in the shoulder harness rear belts in the fututre.
