Is anybody on this website a fan of the Three Stooges? I've been a fan of them since October of 1992 (I was 12 years old at the time) and I remember that I used to drive my mother nuts while watching the Three Stooges during the early/mid 90's.
My son's 14 and 16 and I, love watching them, but just the older ones,,mostly with curly,,shemp is ok 2,,not really into there movies though. One of them got a 3 Stooge DVD, for Christmas, some were in color.
I also love the stooges. I like the ones with Curly the most. Some of the best plays on words are the names on the doors.
Dowe, Cheatem, and Howe

Yes I love the Three Stooges (the originals - don't really care for Shemp). As far as driving your mother nuts, I have found that most - not all mind you, but most - women just don't understand or appreciate their sense of humor. To most women, the Three Stooges is just a stupid bunch of guys beating each other up (my mother's opinion as well!).
I also love watching the old Abbott and Costello movies!!
shemp was an original, it was originally moe, shemp and larry.
curley replaced shemp when shemp decided he wanted to try other venues, however shemp came back to replace curley after he had a stroke.
A big fan. Moe, Larry and Curly. Shemp is alright. Don't care for the movies none, just the funny episodes. My mother and my wife can't understand why I like them.
Bordaine, the best writing on the door I saw was :
Agree with you, heavnbound. It's almost beyond the female mind to grasp the humor of the Stooges. I've read some theories of why they strike a cord in the male mind - seems to center on the fact that Moe acted truly vicious. It wouldn't have been the same if Moe pulled his punches. While Curley is far and away the most popular, it's the straight man who's the key. Hollywood is full of actors who can be a goof, but the really good straight man is hard to find.
Although Curly's my favorite stooge, I wish people wouldn't overlook Shemp cause they like Curly, I didn't really care for the later Shemp shorts when they started to put stock footage on the mid 50's Shemp episodes, I'm not real crazy about the Besser episodes although they did have a couple good ones and I'm not really into the stooge movies either.

How did you like Joe Besser as a stooge? He was no Curly or Shemp but he was a decent performer.
Agree with you, heavnbound. It's almost beyond the female mind to grasp the humor of the Stooges.
Yes I agree, except I have an exception here. I love the Stooges, AND my two daughters love watching them too. Whether they grow out of it or not is TBD.....
