I've got a 1992 F250HD I used the spare jack the other day and I can't figure out for the life of me how to put the thing back in the engine compartment. does anyone have a picture of the engine compartment showing how the thing fits in there. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
i assume it's the bottle jack right?(im going by my 92 f-150) there should be a wing nut/bolt and a metal plate. the bottle jack is to be placed sideways or laying down. there should be a small opening in the firewall for the bottom of the jack to slide into(the square part). the metal braket then clasps the jack in and you tighten the metal bracket to the firewall with the wingnut/bolt.
Yeah the OEM bottle jack. I see the slit in the side panel where it's supposed to go but it just doesn't seem to fit any way I try to put it in there. I really wish i would of paid more attention to how it was before i took it out but i thought it would be obvious how it went back. boy was i wrong. a picture would be key right now.
I'll see if I can take a digital picture of the one in my F250. Used it a few times, but keep a hydraulic bottle jack in the toolbox and a Hi Lift in back. Both work better and are easier to deploy.

Tex- thanks a lot for your help. I managed to get it back in there. now i realize why they supply you with such a long bolt. the bracket was about 1.5 inches away when i ligned it up just like in your picture but it cranked down by hand into place. once again I thank you. now i don't have to worry about getting stranded if i get a flat. plus i'm just one of those people who like to have everything the way it should be.
