Has anyone put a nitrous oxide system on their I6? I'm looking for a good boost in hp just for some fun now and then. my I6's internals are all stock, the exhaust, and intake has been modified and thats it. Will this work? and if so what kind of system should i use?
I think you will have to go custom, as there is no system for these. Also, being such a work engine, It isnt smart to go much past 50-75 shot without major modifications.
NOS makes a system that works on any EFI engine, and i agree that 75 shot would be the max you should go. Some people here have said that any NOS is unsafe on the I6 so you know.
You have to have some way to control the revs cause it would be real bad to over rev a I6. If you have a 4 barral carb any plate system would work.
Watch it, im pretty sure someone on here tried a 200 hp shot ( i know way to much) and blew a hole in his block. I say 50 - 100, and thats HP, so wait til 2nd or 3rd gear around 3K rpms to hit it, regardless of what people say, im getting peak power way up there, prolly close to 4000 but no tach.

No tach? These engines are spent at 3000 and sound spent too
4000 rpm make blocks holey and rods rip out of pistons
saw one that sheared all six flywheel bolts when a rod let go and wrapped around the crank
that was at 4000 rpm
interesting the clutch, trans NP435, and 208 t- case lived!
Thanks, but im pretty sure its up there. Ill get a tach one of these days, but im holding out because im considering a digital guage swap from summit racing. They look alright, and I will probably have the only one haha.
