For the death of me this noise wont go away!!!! The noise is around the front axel and everytime i rock the wheel back and forth, not even a half of a wheel turn it squeaks.. I have replace bushings, the front axel piviot mount, greased everything i thought could possibly be doing this noise but it wont stop!! anyone have any idea of what it could be? i'll take any ideas.. i'm desperate.. Thanks.
I have searched this site and from what I have read on here it could be many things from ball joints, tie rods, front driveshaft and axle u-joints, bad shock or shock bushing, I even read on here that the front crossmember being loose could make a squeaking or creaking noise.
I have a squeaking noise up front, it seems to be coming from the passenger side when I rock my bronco from side to side. The funny thing is that it only does it when it is above 45-50 degrees outside. When it is colder it is quiet.
When it gets a little warmer outside I am going to get under my bronco with a stethescope while I get a friend to rock the bronco back and fourth to see if I can pin point the problem. This idea might also work for you. A piece of vacuum hose will also work fine for listening.
I am sure others out there will also have some ideas on what it could be.
