I have a 2002 ext cab 3.0 auto that I bought used with 22K miles on the clock. When first purchased, it got about 12-13 around town and 17-18 on the hwy. Very disappointing. I ran injector and fuel sys. cleaners (Valvoline) and my MPG went up about 2 MPG. Over the last 3 years I've made a number of mods to the truck, mostly for looks, K & N CAI, Flowmaster, tonneau cover, had the truck lowered, etc. (click on my public profile and then the photo of my truck, for a list of all the mods) Wasn't aiming for better MPG, I'm retired and only drive about 5-6K miles a year. Bottom line is I'm now getting about 15 or so around town, (I don't usually check around town MPG) but I'm up to about 23 on the hwy. Not great, but much better.

I just got a 93 Ranger reg. cab 2 wheel drive 5 speed for running back and forth to work to save miles on my 02 F150. It has 253,000 miles and I get just under 26 mpg with it.
