Kelly Blue Book says the difference in retail value for similarly equipped 2000 models is $15.00. The differences between the CV and the GM are: Grille, front bumper cover, rear valence, taillights, darker wood trim on the GM, and pull handles on the doors of the GM.
Continental has been out of production for a couple years now. I've been looking long and hard at buying a used one for a second family car, even though its front wheel drive it also has the 32V 4.6 with over 260HP, the only Ford car with more power was the Cobra.
You my wish to consider a 1997-98 Lincoln Mark VIII. It has rear wheel drive, IRE, and a strong version of the 32V 4.6L motor. Two separate versions make their way under the hood of the Mark VIII. The basic engine delivers 280 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 285 pound-feet of torque at 4500 rpm. In the LSC version and you get 290 horsepower 290 pound-feet of torque at 4500 rpm. The extra power results from a true dual exhaust system, which reduces back pressure. I also think the interior of this car is pleasing.
I find these threads funny....so much speculation...so little facts. If SVT was going anywhere why did the hire a replacement for Coletti and have increased their staff? Not to mention some serious money going into FRPP. This is like the same let's-jump-to-a-conclusion wishfull thinking I'd expect to find on LS2.com.
Yes,I agree. That is why I have not posted the rumor; I heard that Honda may be buying out Fo.Mo.Co. or it might have been Toyota.Anyway, I would not post without the facts.Keeping it straight.
i was reading that for is going to come out with a mustang wagon to fight the dodge magnum. i heard that it was oked for production and you can get one with a V8 and 5spd for around $26,000. go this off of www.themustangsource.com
Here is what Ford says about the SVT Cobra, as reported last month by Paul A. Eisenstein of TheCarConnection in his article entitled “SVT Still Kicking, Ford Says.” He writes:
“With no cars currently on the market, there've been plenty of rumors working their way through the industry grapevine about the future of Ford Motor Co.'s high-performance SVT unit. But "reports of its demise have been greatly exaggerated," the head of the brand-within-a-brand told TheCarConnection, lifting a turn-of-phrase from Mark Twain. "We'd hate to give up on the brand equity we've established over the last ten years," insisted Hau Thai-Tang, the new boss of SVT, who until recently led the development of the new, retro-styled Mustang. An SVT version of the Mustang will be unveiled at the upcoming New York Auto Show, said Thai-Tang, and though he wouldn't confirm production plans, sources told TCC it's a bit more than a year away.

I seriously doubt that. Ford will not butcher the heritage of the Mustang by trying to make it into a wagon. It might make a wagon, but it will probably use the Crown vic as it's basis as it did in the 80s.
Factory Performance niche vehicles are profitable and it shows with SVT, PVO/SRT, AMG, and even GM has started a "hand built" performance engine factory.
I have been unable to find out which engine will be available in the Mustang Wagon. It could be a turbo 4 cyl.to compete with the return of the Chevy Vega or a 427 w/dual quads to compete with Dodge HEMI wagon. It sure will be interesting.I cannot find at in www.mustangsource.com?
