E4OD hard overdrive shift
I just bought a 97 F150 4x4 with 5.4 and the E4OD tranny. The truck has 117,000mi. on it. Since I drove a 92 with a stick for 3 years I am not real familiar with automatics. It just seems like it is shifting hard into OD.Is this normal? My friends 89 F150 with a 5.0 and an E4OD shifted hard all the time but I have also heard those were crappy from the 80's to the 96 models. Not knowing if the tranny has ever been serviced I would like to go ahead and get it done. I have also heard that a servicing after a long period of use and no servicing can make the tranny start to slip. The reason I am trying to get to the bottom of this is I would like to put a Superchips microtuner on it and pep it up a little without costing myself a tranny rebuild and a real big headache
