97 F350 Steering issues
Just had a question about some steering iissues ive been having on my 4x4 F350 with 6" lift and 35" mt's. If the tire pressure is below 40# its near impossible to try to turn. The ps fluid level is good and the belt is new and tight. There is no noise from the pump and the steering has no geometry isssues(ive jacked it off the ground and turned it lock to lock to check for binding from the lift and steering stabilizer). Where i take my truck to in the hills i need to drop the tire pressure to 10-20 # depending on the conditions(ie snow, mud, pot holes). Let me rephrase the turning too its very hard to turn at low tire pressures.
I'm thinking it could be a worn out ps pump /or gearbox. I've seen the agm gearboxes that have the 5 turn lock to lock ratio but not sure if thats the problem or not.
Thanks
