my brother has the 6 gun in his 01 f-250 crewcab 7.3L 6-speed 4x4. it makes a big difference, itll rip your head back through every gear and its a pretty heavy truck and has 35" tires on it.
I just read your post, thought I'd give you my two cents wort. My diesel mechanic at ford said the 6 gun works well on the 7.3L, but it's nothing but trouble on the 6.oL. Guess which one I have, yep the 6.0L.
Hope this helps, 79 BRONC.
If you have the 6.0 you would love the predator.I had one on mine and it made awesome power.I couldn't take off on wet pavement without spinning the tires in 100hp mode!
Thats pretty cool. I liked my banks 6 gun, it would do the same. But ford made me take it off for them to do any warrenty work on the motor. I was getting check engine light and they blamed the 6 gun. May be when the warrenty is up I'll put it back on.
No the dealer cannot give you better fuel mileage from a customized program. We can sometimes change your octane requirements in the computer... may or may not give you better fuel economy. 1 mpg at best and you'd have to use premium if we change the program... It;s not wirth it.
Hi there, I have the 6 Gun Bundle and when you tow, be careful, if you do not have the Banks inner-cooler you will over heat on the higher settings. As for the Ford problems while running the 6 Gun, Well lets just say that Banks has a great system. The system will read an over fueling problem and others and start shutting down. But, the 6.0 has serious injector problems that allow some of the injectors to overfuel, which the Banks won't catch. Then you burn up your motor. So what really happens is that the 6 Gun will enhance any Ford troubles with the motor and then Ford will say too bad, so sad.
