I can't seem to get the driving lights working. I followed the instructions in the manual. I assumed I have this option, because of the Lariat package and all the other packages I got, maybe I'm wrong. Has anyone had this problem?
Sorry about the spelling: Factury vrs Factory. I'm an Aggie, what can I say

Ahhh. Great Info. Daytime running lights give me a slight savings on my auto insurance. Since it wasn't listed when USAA pulled my VIN, I'm not getting that discount. I'll get this done next time I'm at the dealer. Thank you!
IDS is the integrated diagnostic system software used by Ford tech's to analyse the vehicle's on-board computer systems. Typically they run the software off their laptop which is then connected to a VCM (vehicle control module) which is then connected to your vehicle through the OBD-II connector just below and to the left of your steering wheel. You will hear the term IDS and VCM used interchangeably but IDS is software and VCM is hardware. You need both to program or change programming on the truck.
There is a menu option within IDS that allows changing certain programming parameters - daytime running lights is one of them.
The only other thing is the software version - some guys are terrible at updating their software so as long as your guy is relatively current (say version 68 or better) he should be able to do just fine.
