Higher amp, or 1 wire alternator
I'm looking for a higher amp alternator for an 84 F-150. I want to put a winch and some lights on it and I already have an electric fan, but the one on it now only puts out 61 amps. I'd like to have one with atleast 100 amps. Any suggestions? How do one-wire alternators work? Anyone know?

This is usually not a problem but If you check output at Idle it's usually barely enough to keep the batt light out. Hook up is exactly as it's name "one wire"

I am not sure what motor you have but I put a Ford 3G 130 amp alternator on my 79' 351M, I am sure you could find one of these alternators to fit your motor. The 3G alternator is an internal regulator, just as easy to hook up as a one wire alt.
