Small Block C6 vs Big Block C6

Are the C6s for the small block V8s (302,351, etc) just as strong as the C6s for the big block V8s (390, 460, etc) or are there some internal differences?

Some C-6 transmissions have an extra Reverse/high clutch in the pack. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it though. Diesels will have this for sure. The only differance in the drum is a revised snap-ring location. This is not a must have, they are fine without....Don

Keep in mind the big blocks and small blocks do not have the same bellhousing bolt pattern....

There are differences in the number of clutches as well as changes on the servo lever and valve body. You would not want to take the guts out of a 302 tranny and throw them behind a 460.
