If I don't plug in my truck below 20 degrees, it will start (with remote) and run rough for about 10 seconds, then continue to run for approx two minutes. Then it will shutdown, wait for 15 seconds and restart. Depending on how cold it is, I have seen it do this routine 5 or 6 times. Is it stalling when the glow plugs shut off? Do glow plugs shutoff after 2 minutes?
Educate me on this subject. Starts and stops, restarts with no input from you? Does it act this way if you normally start the truck with a key?
Max, I have been meaning to see if it does this when I start it with the key. All that I stated above happens after being remote started. It does restart all by itself after it stalls without any intervention from me.........

Sounds as if the remote start is doing this. The remote I have is programmed for 3 attempts, once started it will not retry if the truck shuts down. An over rev feature will shut the truck down if your system is programmed.
If the truck has been plugged in, it doesn't have this trouble. I think the reason it automatically restarts is because the "remote start timeout timer" hasn't expired yet. As far as over rev goes, I have verified that it shuts down if the "engine exceeds twice the normal idle speed."
Does anyone know how long the glow plugs remain on after the engine has started? Could it be proportional to the outside temp? It seems to stall after the same amount of time, each time it stalls.
