Hi everybody, this is my first post, I just bought a 97 ranger 2.3 automatic with o/d, my problem is when i am going 60 mph the speedometer says 70mph, it looks like the trans may have been changed at least it has been painted, do transmissions have differant gear ratios, mabee some put the wrong one in it?
any suggestions?
thanks, RICK.
Thanks for the reply, GOOD CALL, I fell stupid, I only checked the tire size on one side, it appears the person I bought the truck from has put a 205x70x14 on on one side and a 215x70x14 one the other side, look like I need to buy another 215x70x14,
I bought the truck 225 miles away from home, I hope I diden't hurt the rear end driving it home,
Thanks again for the help!
well I though that might was the problem, So I put new 215/70/14 tires on the rear but the speedometer is still off about 10 mph, if all 4r55e have the same O/D output ratio someone must have changed the rear end, can this be corrected with a VSS sensor? do they (VSS sensors) differant ratios?
thanks again for your replies.
