On what year truck. The 94-97 psd's can be checked throught the valve cover gasket. Unplug the two on each side and check for continuity on the outer most pins in each plug. I don't know about 99 and up.

I just finished testing mine, and replaced 4, on my 97 F350. Search for carpentractor glow pug for the article on this. I believe you must unplug all 4 gasket leads, 2 on each side, else readings will not be correct. I checked just the outside pins on all 4 gasket plugs ( the inside plugs are to the injectors). Drivers side were all about .6 ohms, passengers side were all open, no resistance.
Removed the valve cover and the passenger side glow plugs, and tested each, all open. Replaced them all, and they now test .8 ohms once installed.
