brake booster

1984 F-150, 302

Please can someone tell me if a stock brake booster can be rebuilt and how much is it going to coas me for the proper kit.

Symptoms are as follows:
1. Hissing inside cab
2. Rough idle
3. Push brake peddle to floor and rough idle clears up.

just buy a rebuilt booster from the supply house. i dont think you can buy a kit for a booster. if there is a brake and clutch in your city, they might be the best place to buy one.

I agree, the days of rebuilding them are gone by. Just look at the local junk yard or price another one.

Just plug end of vacum hose momentaraly. Then see if symtoms go away. Don't drive unless your on a deserted road just for testing purposes.GOD BLESS

brake booster

Just replaced my booster on my 84 f-150 and the symptons where the same as you described. About $80 bucks with exchange and about an hour you'll be ready to go.
