i got a 3.08 open in my 88, and i almost got stuck in a damn parking lot because the back left didnt get any power. i cant find a locker for my differentual. were can i find a cheap locker for it. ive almost gotten stuck too many times because the back left tire just sits there while the back right burns rubber.
If the same tire always spins, maybe the other side is dragging or stuck. I had an issue with an old Chevy where the wheel cylinder would not fully retract. I could back up, but not go forward. Good old drum brakes.
There are alot of limited slip and locking differentials available for your Ford 8.8" rear axle. Check out www.reiderracing.com if you want to read about most of the diffs available for that axle.
socaldesertrider are you sure its a 8.8". i put it in because i blew up the old rearend. but i wasn't sure what the size was because i got it off another 88 f150 long bed reg cab. alls i know its a 3:08 open.
I went to the website and they got a locker for a ford 8.8. i wish they'd show the price.

88 F150's had 8.8" rear axles. The 8.8" has 10 bolts around the rear cover. You can see a picture of the 8.8" axle, and other Ford axles, at www.precisiongear.com/fordring.htm.
