Are there any advantages to running a locker insted of a spool in the front?
Will the truck ('82 F150 short box st. cab) turn any tighter with a locker?
Will a locker work in rev. (I have never used a locker) I have allwase used a spool ar a "lincon locker" in rear of my trail trucks, and left the front open. But on this new trail toy I plan to lock the front as well.
A spool up front will make it near impossible to turn. A regular locker in the front will allow you to turn normally when you're not on the gas. Ideally a selectable locker is the way to go up front.
Mud in the blood? Somebodies been reading my sigature. Anyways, the selectable is the best ticket as Ivan mentioned. Otherwise, I prefer a locker up front because it still lets you steer. Yea, yea, you can hop out and unlock a hub with a spool but who wants to keep doing that in mud up to your hips?

May have been reading his sig but definatly forgot the most important part , And as far as the origanal post you maybe need ot be more specific as to what you are doing with this truck, but according to your question you have to turn at some point so yes a locker would be better, iif you were doing straight line stuff I would stay spool but not if you actually need to turn, and yes a locker will work in reverse.
Aren't you going to need the C6 bolted to the 460 Fellro has right now to build up to put behind the new engine? Or are you going with something other then a C6 for your next truck in the new races?
Hey saurian, wrong thread for that question isn't it, but in answer to your question, yea I am staying with the C6, unless I find a nice Lenco to put behind it, (yea like I can afford that,) and might have to look at changing my stall, but for the most part the only thing changing on my set up will be the engine, and the tire size, but yes I will have to change trans cases for the big block bellhousing.
