Day Time Running Lights
Is it possible to engage the daytime running lights on my US 2001 F250? Does anyone know how the Canadian models differ and if I can get my lights to come on at start up? (makes insurance cheaper is my reason for doing so)

Not sure about your first question but are you sure it makes your insurance that much cheaper. I check on it for my F250 and it would cost me about $120 to install (probably cheaper if you install it yourself since the labor would cost me $45). My insurance would give an approx $2.5 (maybe on the high side) discount per 6 mo. So assuming I installed it myself I would break even in 15 years. I would only do this if safety is your primary concern not saving money.

Well I would really like them on, as I am originally from Canada, and am used to the lights being on as well I do feel they make you more visible, especially here in Seattle where it's quite gloomy during the winter months.

what ever you do, make sure the tail lights come on too. It makes little sense to light the front of your vehicle in the fog ,blizzard,or other sight limiting situation with out having the back visible too. A driver can get just as hurt when rearended
