Running lights

Checked all fuses with test light and loose the signal somewhere between the cab and rear of bed. I'm thinking it is a connection gone bad. I told him to let me have the truck this past summer when temps outside were 50 degrees or better so he waited till winter. It is now 10 degrees(F) and i was hoping someone might have some clues for me to help shorten the amount of time I am freezing under this rig. thanks for your help

Are the front park lights working? Get under the rear of the truck on the drivers side frame rail. You will find a collection of connectors, three if memory serves. Two of these go to the 7 pin factory RV plug. The third one has the truck rear lights, Iwould start checking for power at this point. You did not say if he has the factory trailer plug, if he doesn't then I would start with where the trailer wiring has been spliced and see if the running light wire is broke at that connection.
I am assuming that since you just asked about "running lights" that the brake and turn signals work. Does the plate light work? What are we working on? If a dually do the fender clearence lights work?
