First I wanted to apologize for confusing things in this thread.
When I first bought my truck about a year ago the dash lights were out. I suggested that the headlight switch or bulbs needed to be replaced. The previous owner, whom will be referred to as “*** Hat” from this point forward, assured me that it was in the wiring as “everything else checked out okay”. Today I replaced the bulbs (1895) and what do you know, I have lights in the dash.
Jag Red 54 was right too, replacing the dimmer switch fixed the high/low beam problem.
I bought yet another headlight switch after making sure the screw in retainer would screw in properly. This still remains an issue as now the retainer will not screw in far enough to hold the switch on the dash. This will get fixed tomorrow.
Skiziks, I have had the "loose switch" problem too. I had to put a washer in between the switch and the dash. The extra thickness made for enough tension so it would be held securely. John
