Air bag code 32

Hi all, i have a small problem and hope any of you can direct me in the right way. I am not very technical so excuse me if i sound silly

My airbad light came on after i had brought my newly purchased Ford Explorer 1996 v8 5.0 to a garage to let a new alarm system be installed. I had asked them to remove also 1 switch that wasin the car behind the glovecompartment. This switch had to be turned on else the car wouldnt start. However since this looked like a handy job from the previous owner i desided to get rid of it.

Now i am getting a code 32 in flashed and first thing i did was go to the ford dealer here. They came with the story that my both! airbags was missing and i needed replace both.
Not convinced this sounded right since before the light didnt burn i came to check here and found this info:

B1932.........32...........Driver side air bag high resistance...................GO to Pinpoint Test B1932.
...................................or open

But for poor old me this didnt say much to me as to what could be the problem.

Anyone that can shed some light on this for me?
