I have a '93 Bronco. I rented a U-Haul trailer which blew out my brake lights and turn signals, and I'm assuming that it also blew something in my electrical system related tot he 4x4.
I replaced the fuse for the turn signals, etc, and still no 4x4. I pulled and checked every single fuse under the dash, as well as the distribution box under the hood - nothing else blown. The 4x4 was working fine before this.
The 4x4 light no longer comes on. I can hear a faint click, but the transfer case does nothing.
Are there any other relays, breakers, etc that could have blown, or that I should check?
The Chilton manual is no help at all. Other than this and the brakes/turn signals, everything else was ok.

Whoa sounds like a bummer. Do you have shift on the fly four wheel drive? Push button t case or manual? Other ways of asking that question is do you have automatic hubs or manual, do you have a gear shifter for four wheel drive in your truck.
I am sorry but I don't know much about those systems. I will look into it a little and see what I can find out. I would start by checking that motor and make sure its getting power and sending it. It sounds to me like either it was shorted or a fuse\circuit breaker\etc blew either protecting the circuit or because it was overwhelmed by the short.
I'd think you either blow a fuse or a fusible link somewhere (most likely) or the T-case motor had died on you. Check if the motor gets power when you engage 4x4 -- if not you probably got a blown fuse, if it gets power you probably need a new motor.
skater...where is the reset button? That may be what I need.
aurgathor - are there any fusible links in the system outside the fuse box and distribution box under the hood ?
Really stupid question - how do I check if the motor gets power when I press the button? I imagine I need to get somebody to press the button, and there is probably a push-on connector at the t-case that I'll check for power with a meter when pressed?
I also have a push button automatic 4x4 and was wondering the same, as well as where any other breakers are ie: under the hood?
Also not sure if it needs a new threaad but I was wondering if I could switch autolocking to manual lock system?
Hey 93...
swapping the auto locking hubs to manual hubs is probably the first and most popular modification I've seen discussed on this forum. It's painless, and fairly cheap even if you take your rig to a shop and have them do it. Warn Premium hubs seem to the be the hub of choice here. That's what I'm running and I like them a lot.
ill ask a buddy of mine where it was...he took it to one mechanic and he told him he needed a new motor...took it to another and he hit the reset and it was fine...this was on a 90 ranger..but hey
