All the manual hubs I can find are the type with 6 allen head screws on the cap that must be dissassembled to take them off. On my '87 Bronco, the hubs can be pulled off in one piece when the tire is removed(no cap screws). I can dissassemble the hub on my bench. My problem is I cannot find this type of hub in my manual or at the local Advance Auto. Is this an after market hub? or is it a special OEM part?
Thanks,
TGO
I remove the 5 wheel lugs.
I remove the wheel.
I pull the hub assy off in one piece.
The hub assy slides off. No cap screws. The screws are not missing. The hub assy is designed to slide off the front axel after the wheel is removed. I am guessing it is an obscure aftermarket hub.
That's a factory set-up,can't remember exactly what yrs. had them though.I thought 86 was last yr. on bronco/150's.Rangers/Exploder's had the same thing 'til 94.
Well I got an answer for you. I did some research and found out you have a rare hub that Ford used only for a few years. here is a link to answer your question and how to change them out for the manual locking hubs. Hope it helps you.https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...x.php/t-145922
