Question SuperDuty trailer lighting problem - please help!

i have a 2006 superduty, i have recently noticed i do not have brake lights or turn signals on any of my trailers when i pull them, but the parking light do work on the trailers when i am hooked to my superduty....................all the lights on the truck work fine turn signals , brake lights etc............i have checked the fuses that have anything to do with lighting and they all check out good..............can some one tell me if there is a fuse under the hook that affects the trailer light circuit? or is there something between the trailer light plug on the truck and the fuses that could go bad or be blown? please let me know if u have any info on this issue, thanks

The trailer circuits have their own fuses, and relays. The brake and signal lights are the same circuit, so you really only have 1 problem.

The fuses and relays for the turn signals are in the power distribution box in the engine compartment, drivers side, above wheel well.

Look for fuse #9 (20A) and relays #201 (right) and #202 (left). It's probably the fuse however, since both left and right turn are not working.

This comes from an '06 owners manual, page 212-213.

Same blown fuse

My 2005 has the same problem with trailer brake/turn fuses - replace it and check operation restored. Drive a while, check lights, inoperative again, replace another bad fuse.
Different trailers give me the same results. These trailers (3) did not have problems with my old truck... I don't get it. How can it work for a while and then pop a 20A fuse?
