where can i find axle codes from the door sticker. I have done engine search and found for year 91 from ford150 web site dont know if they are the same codes. But my tag shows 3.54 the web site showed 3.55 for my 89F250 4x4?
I'm also looking for code (65) for my 89F350. My hanes manual does not have the code chart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Axle codes for the F350, if it has single rear wheels, should be 39 for 3.55's and 35 for 4.10's. If the code has a letter as the first character, the rear axle has a limited slip differential in it. Haven't run accross a Code 65 for an F350 in that year range. Are you sure the code wasn't C5? That would be a 4.10 limited slip.
Codes are listed in the 'tech articles' section of this website under 'axle' and 'decoders'. Link is in the upper right corner of this page.
the problem with that article is that it pretty much is only good for a 91, I haven't gotten any use from it yet, it really should be expanded on. I'm currently looking to find out on an 84, code G2, and it isn't on that chart, and yes, I'm doing a search, as I know it has been out on this forum before...
What does the 3L axle code mean on a 2000-2006 super duty? or a C1? I'm looking for another F250 or 350 w/v10 and would prefer a 4.10 or 4.30. Why can't they just put the actual ratio on there?
