Complicated Electric Lock ?'s
I have three super-duty ambulances, all F 350's. On the older ones, (2000, and 2002) they do not have factory keyless entry, and the new one does (2005). I know ford makes the backlit keypads now that work wirelessly with the factory remote keyless systems. Ford dealerships say they have a OEM keyless kit that is compatible with the keypads, I just want to confirm this and figured you guys would know best.
My second question is about wiring. On our ambulances, we have electric locks installed in the patient module. The mfg who makes our ambulances seldom puts electric locks on the module, and didn't know how to wire the rear locks to lock/unlock when the factory switch is pressed. I know it can be done, because other mfg's do it, and I wanted to know if/and how to add a relay perhaps that will trigger the back locks from the factory switch? It would be more convenient, because right now we have separate switches for front and rear locks and it would be nice to have the keypads at all entry doors, to unlock the entire ambulance.
I hate that we even have to keep them locked, but they are parked outside in a very high pedestrian traffic area and that is what we are forced to do.
