I have a bar that connects my carb and my accelerater pedal rod. It swivels nicely. Get rid of all that hinge crap and get creative! Stand at the hardware store for a few hours and you will come up will all sorts of neat ideas.

I'm with thesprocket26.
I picked up a threadded rod and two of the the ball joint end couplers. Connect right from the pedal rod to the throttle actuator point on the carb. Junk that pivot point likage crap that in mounted on the intake mainfold.

I Have a 72 F250 with 300 6 and I found a throttle cable out of a 78 F150 that will work alot better than the linkage. you will have to use the accelerator peddle out of a donor truck with the cable as it will have the right slot in it. the 78 peddle will bolt right in a 67-72. on the other end I was able to get the right bracket to hold the cable off the donor vehicle. if you can't find the bracket it would not be hard to make one.
