I made a drawing of my 1960 F-100 panel truck frame on AutoCad 2002. This drawing has all locations for suspension, body, gas tank, etc., dimensionally located. The problem is that you would have to have AutoCad to open up the drawing. If you have the AutoCad 2002 program, I can Email you the files.

Gary,

Sounds like those autocad drawings might be the way to go. I checked my '58 shop manual, there are frame dimensions listed in Chapter 6, page 22 but not the depth you're looking for. You might possibly find an assembly manual or some collision repair info from that era that has better information.

mr4speedford,
If you have a layout for the 1960 F-100 panel truck (maybe same as short bed), I would like a copy to compare with my AutoCad drawings.

thank you

The dimensions given in the post Mr4Speed mentioned are:
F-100, F-250, P-350
Width at front..........................34"
Width at rear...........................34"
Front End Dip............................1-3/4"
C to C Front spring hangers........44-5/32"
C to C Rear Spring Hangers.........51-21/32"
Rear Axle Kick-Up......................2"

Also, I have my 59 short wheel base frame available and can take whatever additional measurments you think might help.

I intend to take some pictures and add some dimensions before I mount the cab.

WillyB,

If the frame rails are 34" wide at the rear (just like the 48-52 and 53-56) then I assume the width between the inner edges of the rear rails is around 29 to 29.5 ?

Would you confirm?

Thanks,
