i believe i asked this before, but i have lost the forum link.
I have been offered the opertunity to purchase a 400+hp 351C out of a 74 Torino. This is a complete engine for 800 dollars. A close family friend is selling it
Now for the question
Will this engine go into my 78 f250. i am aware i will need a different transmission, but what else will i need. Also will headers be a problem.
Thanks you for any help you can offer.

If the F-250 is a 77-79 4x4 & had a 351m-400, get the s.b. truck motor mounts. If it has 4v heads forget the headers, nobody makes them & if you don't have the 4v ex. manifolds think twice about the hole thing, big $ for manifolds.
I did that mod and it was easy.I had my own 4bbl manifold so that wasn't a issue. The mounts well,I used 302 engine m,ounts on the original towers....no problem.Depending on your tranfsercase and tranny setup you might have to slide the tranny mount back or forward an inch or so.But the mount usually has slotted holes.Use your 351m oilpan for the right fix.
I agree with 78 Short, it's really not a bad swap and you'll find everything lines up like it was meant to be in there.
Finding exhaust manifolds is a hassle, though. I have manifolds from a 73 LTD (400m) on mine, but you'll need to visit your muffler man. The pass side manifold from your truck M block runs into the starter and will definitely not fit. Makes taking the pass side valve cover off an A/C truck easier, though! You might talk to Sanderson headers or other street rod guys for options if you want headers.
Do look into the cam in that motor, you want a flatter torque curve than you'd want in a Torino.
